Labor Day Weekend

Wow, my first week in school and I already have a 4 day weekend!

Alex starts school on tuesday. Don't tell him, but I will seriously be laughing at him when he has to get up at 5:30 to go to school, because I dont have to get up untill 8! Though knowing him, he's going to be really loud in the morning and wake me up >.<

Nothing has been really going on lately, and I'm not sure we're doing anything tomorow for labor day. I'm going to have to convince them to do something! Other than that there's not much else to report.

Clearing things up

Wow. My first week of college is over, and I had such a great time!

I wanted to clear up somethings about NCC. NCC stands for New Century College. Basicly its like a college inside a college. I wanted to major in education, but unfortunately Mason only has a Masters program in Education. What they did to counteract that problem (because so many people want education as a major) is they basicly combined the bachelors and masters program into one big bit. So in theory I can get my masters in 5 years, instead of the conventional 6. This would be good for me, because (at least in VA) its impossible to get a stable teaching job with only a bachelors. And of course I want to go straight into teaching!

Well college life is very intresting. I'm used to getting up around 5:30 every morning to get to school on time, but now I dont have to wake up untill around 8:30! Its such a treat. I also love going to the dining hall (Caio Hall), to eat lunch durring my classes. Its so much fun to people watch! And the fact that its all you can eat, for one meal! The only problem with college so far is the homework >.< There is so much stuff I have to read, and I have like a 4 page paper every week. I totally wasn't expecting that.

I really miss all my cousins, and I wish I could have another family party to get everyone down here to visit. Orrr I was thinking I could make the trip to PA to visit Gretchen. Maybe Mom and I need to have a mother, sister, daughter day. Lol

Hemlock Overlook

So, I'm on my third day of college, and so far it's been a blast. I love going to class, and working with the other students. My program is kind of complicated, but it gets easier to understand as you go through it. Basicly I have one class that starts at 10am and goes to 12pm. Then I have a break for lunch, and we resume at 1pm and go to 3pm. In a way its like highschool, but I'm getting way more out of it than I would any normal class. NCC is a very hands on type of program.

We just went to Hemlock today (Yea I Know! It's my third day and i'm already doing field trips!). I had so much fun at Hemlock. We did this thing called Total Team Challenge where we went up 3o feet in the air and had to manuver around this ropes course, while our team mates below basicly held together the entire thing. It was an amazing trust activity. Then we did a game called Toxic Waste, where there was a bowling ball, on a stool in the middle of a box that was 5x5 feet. You had to get the bowling ball in a box, without touching it, or the ground around it, and you could only use the tools that they gave you. My team ended up not finishing it, mostly because we spend to much time thinking and not enough time doing, lol. The last thing was called Life Line, and you basicily had to balance on these ropes, and go along a course and both your team and another team had to get to the other side, going in opposite directions. That was a Really fun one too, because I got all the way across! It's a lot harder than it looks.

I didn't get any pictures, because my camera is still at work >.< I left it there for testing and haven't gotten it back yet. So these pictures are pictures I found on google, and are not me...
